If I understand WR correctly, he loves the tone he's getting going direct to his amp. Different pickups (and magnets and height adjustments) always change the tone.
BINGO! :)
I am a bit overwhelmed by all the responses since my last post, you guys here are really a great bunch of people and my kind of musicians too, thank you.
Yes, I'm a purist and a perfectionist like most here I'm sure. I personally have a deep love for playing straight in, I really can feel and hear the rawness of the every basic componet. Also, the challenge of getting a beautiful modern processed sound is fun and rewarding for me. So as you probably imagine, I'm a mad scientist in regards to every little detail of my valves, cabling, solder used, etc., and on & on through every last minute detail of my entire signal chain.
I use a Bogner Shiva guys, the most recent standard model with EL34's. I use the gain channel only but never the boost. Everything is done from the guitar, which is an H/S Strat, weak single in the neck and HB bridge, one volume control, a three way switch, and most importantly my heart and hands.
In conclusion here, I've been dissecting my tone chain for 25 years, BPK's hot PU's amazingly have great string to string seperation / clarity. So at this point if you will all please let me be me, and accept that I know my signal chain and just simply had a question about my volume pot's resistance value and a question concerning other BPK's in relation to my quest, I will feel respected and give respect back.
Thanks again, I've never come across such a well demeanored forum, I'm happy to have found it and fortunate to know you all exist in the world.
