Hi folks!
as already can be read in the topic-line, I am looking for new Pickups for my recently acquired Epiphone Lp Baritone (27,75", Mahogany body, Marple top and neck, Rosewood fingerboard).
The Guitar will be used for a Experimental-Tech-Death Band/Jamproject, and we plan tuning down to G#.
There will be quite some clean parts (I'd say 20%), so it should be able to produce 2 nice clean tones, one warmer (neck-Pu?) and one sparklier but colder one(bridge-Pu?)... the Guitar funnily enough has a pushpull-poti and therefore comes with the possibility of coil-splitting.
From the bridge-Pu in high-gain, I would like to get a "huge" and brutal, modern and organic sound, but not muddy or undefined, as I do not only play powerchords and singlenotes.
The neck-Pu should produce a fluid, singing and sustaining, harmonically rich sound, suited not only for fast sweeping but also for some more emotional solos and melody lines.
What would you guys think will suit best for the purpose?
I thought about a C-pig or a Nailbomb in the bridge, but I am not decided yet.
for the Neck position I am absolutely undecided ... :?
Maybe you could help me? :D
cheers, Daniel
