Job Hunting
« on: June 14, 2010, 10:12:03 PM »
Is shite  :(

Didn't get the job that I went for a few weeks ago (alhough they do want to talk to me again on Wednesday), so back in the search again today.

I hate job hunting.

Me too, went through and interview, telephone interview, ability test, another interview and a call back only to be left to assume I didn't get the job when the start date passed.

Yep same here. I just recently got some work from my uncle which pays quite well and there's a chance in the near future I could get taken on full time.

Been getting offers from an agency too but because I'm working with my uncle I have to turn it down unless it's permanent. 2 days work with my uncle is about a weeks worth of work with the agency.

Yep, I was supposed to work all week with him starting yesterday but it got cancelled. That would of been equal to about 2 and half weeks work from previous jobs I've had.

Reason being is I would work about 60 hours or so in a week and being paid more.

Yeah, it didn't come to anything.  It was punching well above my weight so I wasn't that suprised (need another 10 or so years of experiance), but at least I was able to get an interview and some feedback on it.

I've only ever had two propper interviews (incuding this one) as I've generally been head hunted, so my interview technique is definately something I need to work on as it will hold me back as much as anything else.

Found a couple of other things on monster so just need to find time to apply, luckily we want to relocate so we're fairly flexible.  Sadly I've got to keep in my current job which I'm getting rather bored of......... but it's not all bad as I'm off to the Aston Martin factory for a cup of tea  :D......... but then I'm off to an abortoir  :(
