The Imperial March - Black Dog
« on: July 03, 2010, 02:14:24 AM »
So i'm a complete and utter star wars nerd. I started working on 'covering' the imperial march (darth vader's infamous theme) i had alot of fun doing this today so i'll share this definitely unfinished work in progress (the best part is coming :D)

I'm mostly working on arranging the different instruments into guitar tracks, once i got that down, i'll do a proper transcription and a proper recording.

this is done direct from my el84 amp line out into a cab impulse on the pc. there are around 5-6 tracks for the riff, and 4-5 for the lead. also did the bass with the cab impulse as well

i realized this isn't your everyday showcase for a black dog, but it's quite versatile once you think about it, it even does star wars correctly!

EDIT: i did the quiet part now this morning. pleasantly surprised at how it all mixes togheter.

I've done a bit more work today. i'm up to a part with glorious trumpets XD

now the drums are a bit more proper. there are pops and cracks everywhere. i'm learning the song as i'm recording. there's alot of stuff to remember! the final version will be fun. my sonar project has over 40 tracks so far.

thanks! i think the main melody isn't ''trumpety'' enough so i might experiment with different fuzz tones to get a real nasty horn like tone. the quiet part that comes next in the theme will be very fun to tackle with clean tones:D
