Riff Raff/Black Dog/VHII doing hard rock type stuff
« on: July 03, 2010, 03:11:13 PM »
This is the final preproduction mix for one of my band's songwriting demos. This song has been kicking around in various incarnations over the past year or so.

All of the crunch and standard-tuned electric guitar is a Riff Raff bridge wired in series. The echoplex'd guitar in the middle is the Riff Raff wired in parallel.

The 8ve guitar parts are actually a Nashville tuned guitar with a VHII in the bridge. Maestro PS-1 was used for the phase shifting.

The 'main' solo that comes in at about the 2 minute mark is a Black Dog bridge.

Guitar tracks were tracked with a Randall iso cab/Scumback M75/SM57/Blue mic cables into an Arsenal Audio R20 mic pre, recorded at 24/44.1 into Cubase. Amp used is a Bumbox Cielo.

hi d&l, liked all the guitar sounds, tonewise groovewise.also it isn't overproduced in that i could imagine this actually being played by a band which is good in my book.
(unwanted opinions bit ).... it almost sounded like an acidy rock thing at the start which i love but then the singing started, and whilst the singer is good he/she didn't take it anywhere.i would have prefered it staying instrumental ,maybe a few more keyboards.thanks for sharing

Thanks for the comments! Glad you feel the music is strong/evocative enough to stand on its own! :)
