Warpig questions
« on: July 09, 2010, 02:32:30 PM »
OK, I have a Schecter C-1 - mahogany body, maple neck, bolt on, rosewood fingerboard, strings through body, TOM bridge - I use gauge 10 strings. Obviously I wanna put a warpig set in.
So the questions:
1. As far as I understood the neck pickup is an Alnico V - correct?
2. And the bridge has the option of being ceramic or Alnico V?
3. If all of the above are true - can you please recommend which option for the bridge has what benefits?
This guitar will be used mainly for heavy rock and metal of course.
Thanks in advance.

yes and yes.
ceramic is (of course) tighter and more focused, and has got a more aggressive (and i'd dare to say fizzier) high end, while the regular WP is very rounded upwards...
if you downtune a lot (B, A#) the Alnico WP can get a bit too ponderous on low notes, but if you're more on the "heavy rock" side of things and want a crunchier tone i'd choose it over the Ceramic version, that's almost too ridiculously brutal for everything beside death metal.
i love them both, anyway! :)

how does your guitar sound acoustically?
Mule, MQ, Stockholm, CS, RY, MM, PK, ANB, CNB, AWP, CWP, PiG90...

too many? ;)
