Well, i don't know if anyone on this board lives in Hemel, but i hope you guys are ok and every thing is fine.

You can hear the emergency services screaming down the road over here in Hatfield.

I actually work in one of the surrounding warehouses (asos.com) and it looks like a have a few days off work due to the amount of smoke (an irritant) and apparent damage to the building. Good thing i didn't bother with over time this weekend.

Ten minutes after these photos were taken, it's spreading fast, it's covering the sun and it's just got alot darker.

You can see the size of the cloud here, taken by a satellite shortly after the explosion:

Apparently it involved about 60,000,000 gallons of fuel :!:

Many houses have been damaged, with some reporting feeling effects from the explosion as far away as Oxfordshire - while it was heard in a number of counties and even France and the Netherlands.

It was on the news. I didn't hear the explosion, tho.

Terrible tradigidy. For the people and the environment.

This might sound a bit selfish but I bet this means fuel prices will be going up (again).

My friend (also my band's drummer) 's dad had their main office there, and it just got blown to smithereens. Fortunately no-one was hurt, but that business is down the drain...

Thats nasty. Are they covered on insurance for that? I can imagine it being the kind of thing the insurance companies manage to weedle their way out of...
