I'm not usually into pointy metal guitars.

And I'm still not.  That's damn ugly. But congratulations anyway, I'm sure she has a wonderful personality!

I don't really think of the 70s BC Rich guitars (Mockingbird, Eagle, Bitch) as metal guitars per se. I think they have a classyness to them while still having modern styling.

+1 on that
I dont even think the Warlock was metal per se
In the late 70s & early 80s they were used by all sorts of people and to an extent they became really popular with the glam rock brigade because they looked exotic.

Whilst I liked (and owned many)the ST3 and Gunsliner - they were more of a response to the popularity of Charvel, Jackson , and Kramer

Looks ace. +1 for the PTFE tape on the bar. Use it with my Kahler to get it to sit in the right spot

It appears to have four switches unfilled - any plans for them?

And congrats! Silly me.

I'm sure its been noted by one or two regulars round here that I've been GASing for a BC Rich Mockingbird lately.

that would be me. Looks nice, was thinking of getting an ST a while back, but then the one locally was sold. Just wasnt sure about being korean made, worth the money you reckon?

the whole Korean made thing did bother me; until I played it.  the build quality is very nice for a £500 guitar - it feels very substantial too with a neck that is not too thick or thin (very similar to my 90's Les Paul neck)

yes, its that one off ebay.

yes, the varitone and phase/split switching will be going back in (once I take the EMGs out)

the logo is a script type - its a Korean one (would love one of the Yugo-made ones, they look to be of fantastic quality) or of course one of the Rico-built ones ($£$££$£$£$£$£$£$£$££$)

it plays really nice and has a familiar feel like my Les Paul.  the trem 'play' is pissing me off already though - I seem to recall some electricians tape or a spring being the cure back in the day - any better cures these days?

You can gt replacement arms and the fitting is held in by one allen bolt- so you change the bar and the holder on the trem in one go

GT??? - got a link Jonathan?

I'll be putting the wiring back to stock and also putting passive pickups in there - the EMGs sound pretty damn good in this guitar, if a bit thin (nowt that my old 6-band mxr eq won't solve).

Even if the EMGs stay for a while, I'll put the switches and varitone back in as 'dummies' just so it looks right.

Also want to look at a bigger trem block - the stock one is a bit 'wee'.  I reckon that a chankier trem block would give it more balls.

Give me a call about the Floyd Tremolo block - I've just started having some made and they are brilliant
I replaced a couple over the last couple of weeks with a 12.5mm thick cold rolled steel ones and the result was fab - almost sounded as thick as a hardtail.

Jonathan, have you ever used Brass to make a block or used a brass' block in a guitar bridge? How did it sound?
