One of my mates has left me one of these to sell for him - bit of a monster - neck is like a baseball bat with strings!

Lovely guitar - just has one ding on the binding which is a real shame

Nice - I've got a soft spot for Goldtops.

Out of interest, how much does he want for it?

50's tribute goldtop studio with P90's, around $850.

The most sensible thing Gibson has done in decades.

800 quid in the UK.

Is it asking for the moon on a stick to say I wish they'd bound the neck and body?

(At that price, I guess it is)

I think there'll be a lot of demand for the goldtop.  The other colours may end up going very cheap.

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I'm seriously tempted by those £800 Goldtops, but I'd always be thinking about getting binding added.  Like Philly said, if it had binding...

I did a little bit of rummaging on the interweb about this £800 beastie - it seems it's a limited run of 120 or something... how's that going to work?

Or have I looked for the wrong one?

+1 on the goldtop...

Very nice.  My 40th birthday next year...  £800 seems like a pretty reasonable present...

It is a limited run, but 120 on a budget model seems a bit too limited!

Gibson are capable of any level of stupidity imaginable, though, so you could be right.

I have a feeling Gibson have stopped production of the goldtop tribute already.  Due to problems with getting the required finish at the price point.  In other words these are really popular we'll issue them again in 3 or 4 months at £1400.
