Well done! You now have complete freedom. I love driving around late at night when no one else is on the road. I come up with all my best riffs when driving too! Although it's generally when I'm going TO work and not FROM work :(

Now get ready to be raped by the petrol and insurance companies! I've pretty much been taking it in the arse since I was 17 (I'm 22 now) because of various accidents and I'm still paying double (almost triple) than some girls my age.

I passed mine first time too, but didn't get a car or drive until I was nearly 25.  The ludicrous amount of money required to insure even the smallest car was way more than I could realistically afford...

I always remember that when I passed my driving test ( 1975  :o ) - life and good times just opened up in front of me as a result. It helped me get the jobs I wanted - and enabled me to enjoy my freedom / free time in ways not previously possible.  A true 'Rite of passage' of modern times.

Not at all. We've just had a death, and subsequently two convictions because of youths driving dangerously in the area. So it certainly makes you think.

I passed mine 11 years ago, I had a clean driving record for ages and would have gotten a huge no-claims bonus, but then it turns out the last two years (!) back in Germany the policy for the car I was driving was in my dad's name and that meant I had to start from ZERO no-claims bonus here in the UK!!! Since my car here is fairly new I needed a comprehensive one, argh!!!! I paid over 900£ last year, this year was thankfully less already  :(

I passed 1st time too with only 2 minors. Looking to get a different car at some point, something that doesn't drink as much fuel as mine (Ford Focus). Like a TDCi Corsa or Fiesta.
