Help to choose pickup for Bo-El
« on: August 03, 2010, 10:22:46 PM »
Hello everyone. I’d like to change pickups on my Bo-El guitar. And now I choose between Miracle Man and Nailbomb. Guitar has 7 strings, ash body, maple neck and floyd. I play to 5150. This guitar gives very sharp sound with good attack, but I feel that sound has not enough bass and depth ( I usually play on mahogany guitars). I play progressive metal, so I need tight sound with good attack, with enough bass and depth of sound. Because since I started to play on Bo-El I had to add bass and gain on my amp.. So what will be the best choice in this case?
Thanks

Well since you had to add bass and gain, why not counter that with a Warpig?  :D

I play progressive stuff and the ceramic pig I have is working great for me. The ceramic magnet tightens it up and it's a machine that's made to "attack" (  ).

Thanks for answer! Finally I decided to order Nailbomb. You are right about attack and ceramic magnets but I think that Alnico gives more depth sound and my guitar with ash body has good attack. I wrote to Tim and he described difference between Warpig ang Nailbomb pickups. So for my first BK pickups I decided to choose Nailbomb :)
