I must admit I did wonder if you'd gone for the HTH, Andy!
The Laney sounds cool. I see from the website it has a "less than one watt" second input socket... how well does that work?
VERY well :D
It's 0.75 W apparently. It is "nicer" than the .25 W setting on the AC4TV. I can get the Master Volume up to 4 or 5 for a "let's be sensible(ish) in the early evening" session, or 6 for "hey it's Saturday morning, let's rock..." - this means it cooks nicely.
I can also use it for "let's noodle around at midnight" with the master down to less than 1, and still feel like I'm getting a guitar tone...
On the "let's be sensible" occasions, it's a toss-up between the above and actually using it at 15W with master on 2.
The Tone control on the master comes into its own during these "turn everything down" sessions. It seems to behave much like the "Slope" control on the HTH Amp.
I'm loving it. Put it this way - I haven't used the AC4TV (except for comparison) or a modellor for over two weeks now!
How reliable it would be in a getting-bashed-around gigging situation, I don't know though...
If I was gigging like I was in the old days, I'd have been very VERY close to buying the HTH - possibly even on the day of the meet... Although, I was very aware that I wouldn't use most of what the HTH amp is really capable of (the higher gain stuff)...
(Sorry fr33man1 - derailing your thread here )
