The Lake District
« on: August 12, 2010, 04:16:29 PM »
I've been up here for nearly a week now and have developed a bit of a liking for it. Great roads, great scenery, reasonably cheap and decent people (apart from the tourists  :D).

Driving over the Kirkstone Pass was pretty stunning - the sun was just about to set and provided some fantastic scenery.

Anyone on here from these parts?

I think I hate being indecisive.

I helped design the sewage works in Whitehaven.  Spent a year keeping surfers turd free.

I like it up those parts, but like Cornwall, there's just no work for me  :(
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

I was just visiting and have just got home to sunny ( :?) Basingstoke. 310 mile journey with two kids, two dogs and a great selection of CDs!

Apologies for threadjack but I live in Basingstoke too, although I'm not originally from here (ex-pat northerner :))

No worries about the threadjack! I know there are a few on here that live in/around Basingstoke. Perhaps a mini 'stoke meet up would be a good idea.
