NPD

Finally got around to a NPD thread for my Ceramic Warpig set. Maybe it's better this way; now that I've had them for a while I have a better idea of what's up with them.

They were certainly the right fit for my Horizon. The pickups are perfect for the guitar; and they look killer! The ceramic bridge delivers crushing bass and gain while keeping more than enough focus and tightness enough for the drop-C tuning I usually have the guitar in. The inherent grind of the 'pig is great for all that sketchy dissonant hardcore stuff (I like to call it diatonic cacophony) as well as creating that "wall-of-sound" effect. The alnico neck is very round and smooth. I like it, but the main problem I find with it is that the bridge pickup can often preform just as well (if not better) in a lot of situations where I'd use the neck pickup.

In a live situation, if one EQs the amp properly they would have no problem getting an amazing sound out of the 'pigs. In the studio, for my style, I usually cut out the "low" low bass in the post EQ and turn the treble up depending on the application.

I'll attach a demo I'm recording where the doubletracks aren't lined up at all, there's no bass, and the "garage band" drums sound of farts to give an example of how the bridge pickup sounds (I have no good clips using the neck). It's still a work in progress, even for a cr@ppy demo. I won't bother fixing it up pretty, because I'm nowhere near done even writing it.

EDIT: Okay... Okay... It isn't really that bad. ^^  8)
