Well as some of you know...
I gave up a great job in the city to care for my mother full time. Though I've never regretted the decision, I've been watching the gap grow on my CV for the last few years and trying to ignore the fatal effects on my potential future employability. :(
It is a very isolating situation being a carer.
So, I've been doing voluntary work for civil liberties groups & parliamentary lobbying to keep my confidence up and mind less numb.
Then through a chance meeting I became aware of this position and thought "f**k, I can do this and get my life back on track"
It's been a very long application process and part of the reason I've been so quiet....
Yesterday I was finally interviewed by the existing board & by all accounts knocked their socks off!
My CV is going to be 1000x better than before I quit my last job and I'm going to be practising management at the highest strategic level for at least 3 years after my approval at the next company AGM.
I can't wait. :P
