Nice one- Ron, of R/2E is a forum member. He modified ( or pimped I believe is the modern expression eh Johnny Mac?) my Strat with Apaches and will shortly be dealing with my Tele. I am sure he'd be glad if you say hello when you next visit. He puts together a fine plank I can tell you.

Ron has put in a very considerable amount of time and effort on this project.

From what I am hearing........the job is nearing completion?
When it's finished I'll let you know how it performs. I'm "hoping" that come New Year it will finally be here. 8) :harp:

Thanks for the comments! The latest pics are now up on the website, the link in Rob's post above. Yes it is close to completion, and will hopefully be strung up next weekend (this one will have to be hung for a week or two until it's ripe.............)

Have to agree with Rob here. When he first told me what he wanted, it seemed like desecration to ruin a good guitar in this way, but as I've worked on it the magic has taken hold and I'm now very keen to play it. I should imagine the lack of finish will contribute to the sound and resonance, but we'll see in due course.

Hi HJM, I use nitro almost exclusively. (Though there's more unfinished than finished on this guitar!) Most of the stuff I finish is vintage or re-issue and nitro is the genuine article.
