Cool pretty girls

and

Flying Vs

she'd better rock, or I might need to reenact the 'Built To Destroy' cover art

Thanks mate,

I think this is my 16th V, but not sure.

I really hope to good she's a good'un. Shes got the original t-tops anyway, and she was made just 1 month before I was born, which is kind of cool. The price is a pretty good deal I think, assuming shes a good player.. and if not I just got skanked royally. I'll be able to say more when she arrives.

  I'm sure you must be quietly overtaking me in the guitar collection stakes (and I was never even in the race when it comes to cool pretty girls).

Looks good.  I wonder how much more expensive a block-inlay version from the same year would be?
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I often wonder that as well. They don't come up for sale that often (I've never seen one). Not sure I prefer the block inlay look either. I would guess they would be worth 50-100% more

The real question is how many white Flying V's do you have!  I know you wanted one from this era though (but I still like pointy headstock V's more!).
So many pickups, so little time

six of them are white (i think!). its the proper colour for a V..

i've been searching a 70s one for a while, this is the first reasonably priced one to come up. it should have an ebony board too, being a proper gibson in white, which is my preference. what i also like on this one is the headstock is colour coded.

hopefully it will be a good one. i also brought my johnny winter V blind too, and its a nerve racking way to spend a large amount of money.

love that dumpy 70s headstock :)

Six white flying Vs... so if one went missing you wouldn't notice? ;)

Six!  :o

The Greco, the Johnny Winter, this one.... I can't think of the others.  Are you including the Schenker one?

The John Birch is white.  The V-90 is white too I think.

here are the six, and i would notice within about 3 microseconds if one were missing ;)

greco '81
john birch
johnny winter '84
this new '79
jackson RR1
steinberger GP rebuilt by feline

i suppose it depends on how far you consider the V shape to go. but for me, the steinberger GP and Jackson RR are definitely Vs.. and great ones at that.

edit: V90 could not be mistaken for anything but yellow :) :)

Ah, I didn't remember the John Birch being white, and I totally forgot the Steinberger.  And I didn't know you had an RR1!

I did remember the V90 was very yellow!  :D
