Parker P36

well folks, i was wondering if any of you had any experience of the Korean Parkers in general, and the P36 (tele-alike) in particular?

 i've had a desire for this guitar for a long time, but it's reaching fever pitch!  and now i have a choice of three available to me.  a natural ash one, which is the one i always liked but at this point is the most expensive, a transparent white one, which strangely has had the piezo parts stripped out (and is in tipperary, which is quite a long way away :) ), and finally one that is covered in blue alligator print leather!

the piezo stripped one is the cheapest, but seems a bit dodgy, and while the ash one is the one i always wanted, i have a notion about the leather one now.  maybe i should try it and save up for a southern nitefly in natural finish? :)

anyway, what i'm really after is any views on the general quality of the korean parkers.  any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I had a P-38 a while back - very well built guitar and super flexible with the "pizza".

If it was me, I'd get the one I wanted.  Also, the whole point is the pizza bridge so why would you buy one without it????

that's  a very good point.  i find it very odd that they've removed it.  and just left an empty hole where the battery compartment is at the back!

it's between the leather and ash then.  hmm, decisions decisions...

I've ripped the Piezo out of my FLy classic. Sounds far better having bypassed all the circuit board-ery inside and I hadn't used the piezo in about 5 years.

i do wonder if i'd ever actually use the piezo feature, i just thought it seemed a bit odd that they'd ripped it all out.  i'll take a second look at it, it may yet be worth it since it's significantly cheaper than the other two.

I apologize for the forthcoming rudeness, but am I the only one who thinks that Parker guitars are REALLY hideous?

Parker fly are awesome in both design AND tone.

Whether you like them or not, these guitar have personnality and and it's also nice in 2010 to have some people like Ken Parker able to re invent  the 50's-ish design of an electric guitar. 
Not that the les Paul or the strat are bad but it's cool to have some other "different" guitars design around.

Anyway, this could not be relevant insofar as for me the tele is one of the worst looking guitar in the world  :lol:

Thanks mate, it was just a joke about the Parker. Don't get me wrong, I had weird guitars like the Jem 77 FP with the monkey grip, but somehow I always return to the old bodystyles. Tele's, strats, les pauls. But I appreciate innovations and yes a lot of necks of modern designs are easier and faster to play. So everyone should feel free to stay in the vintage-style or play innovate guitars.

I got no problem with new guitar designs either most of them are just not for me.

I preffer the classic guitar shapes just like Telerocker.
