Cheers Elliot ! :)
I see the Cyber Twin SE seems quite well regarded around the net - as a flexible gigging tool ,
but with it's solid state output and cheap ( but suitably neutral sounding ) Celestions Hot 100s, I was immediately struck how the whole
characteristic 'core ' of 4 x 6L6 output valves, heavyweight Emminence speakers ( + a whole host of back panel connections and functions ) were sadly 'missing' . It just seems to take all the characteristic
threat , sweat and beef out of the whole 'Twin' thing.
I appreciate that to many folk, those things may be a bonus ( and of course respect your budget limitations ) - but that still profiles more like an overgrown Fender G-Dec, or a better evolved Marshall Valvestate - rather than truly meriting the 'Twin' name. Sorry if my dissent sounds somewhat dismissive, but " that isn't the girl
I married" .
For the record I had last year tried a solid state Fender 'Jazz King' ( slightly modified Steel King ) - and felt that the Fender solid state output stage, failed to be either an authentic 'glassy-but-huge' sounding Fender , nor did it do the solid state yet warm , responsive and sweet thing as well as many other rivals.
