Excellent - and well recorded PDT_003.
Although I thought I have all the pedals I need I seem to be devoloping GAS for the Xotic EP. How much does it affect/improve the tone and what effect do the 2 internal dip switches have?
Thanks, I am also quite happy how it turned out ;)
I was in Frankfurt last week and saw on the website that Musik Schmidt had some Cornfords in stock, so I went there to check how theirs (new ones) sound compared to mine (old black face) and to test some boosters. So I walk up to the counter and say I'd like some boost pedals for my Mk50H and suddenly the sales man gets all excited, says he is playing a Mk50H too and that he hates me that I have a black panel one and all and goes on raving about the amp. Then he says "I got the Multiple Orgasm Pedal for you, I tried all kinds of drives, boosters and all, and this one is the shite with the Mk50!"
Ok so I think yeah whatever, he tells every customer that he plays his amp and needs to improve his sales quota on Xotic stuff, but Ok, he hands me a Gibson Custom Shop SG, hooks up the Mk50II to a Marshall 4x12 and connects the EP.
After the second chord (first with booster off, second with it on) I knew I'd gotta have it! It is very nice. But it doesn't 100% retain the tone of the Cornford like the sales guy said.
To describe: It adds some certain juice in the upper mids, like almost a silky shimmer but not in a soft way, in fact it gan do pretty metal (as opposed to the RC booster, which IMO is more of a blues pedal). Accentuates the pick attack, adds oomph and sustain and makes it sing even more. I haven't even touched the dip switches, I don't wanna break anything LOL
