you wouldn't use the meat knife on crusty bread but, equally, the serrated knife and straight edge knife aren't going to go through raw meat as quickly

Hmmm, odd indeed. I'm not a V lover though so things like this won't bother me as much as some of you V lovers.

Is that a coin stuck the top? Also, it's not too clear from the picture but it looks like the bottom three strings have been strung over the bridge and the top three through it.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Ah, cheers. Thought it was a bit of an odd feature (the coin).

gibson did a firebird medallion special edition too.

a couple of rock stars played medallion Vs.

(also, speed knobs on a V... no!)

(in fact the cases of these medallion Vs and firebirds have a medallion on them too.. alot of people use them to make fakes.

in the case of the V, you can tell a fake very quickly by looking at the construction of the heel)

getting ready for that lottery win as you can see..

I don't think it's too terrible, to be honest.  The speed knobs are an eyesore, but easy to change, and it's easy to get a new (or even vintage) scratchplate and change it back to two pickups.  Ok, so there's a bit of wood routed out under the plate.

It's only a "Rare Valuable Vintage Medallion Flying V" with the benefit of hindsight.  The owner might've added that third pickup in 1974.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy a new Gibson and modify it.... and I don't think you would either.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
