That's a FAST response! Thank You All :) i'm searching this forum, but lots of great PU's cause my confusion
Hey MDV, my axe has maple set neck with tonepros fixed bridge and 26,5 scale, Schecter C-1 shape, ...hope NB will be little less hot than BO's
and about NB ceramic vs Alnico - I like EMG-85 in the bridge better than the 81 so NB alnico?
Quite welcome.
Well, with your new information
The maple neck is going to provide most of the acoustic sound of the guitar. Its a common misconception that the body wood is the most important because theres more of it. Whats most important is whats in line with, directly under, the strings. In 'maple neck mahogany body' guitars what I've generally experience and come to think of as a guide is a guitar with a somewhat bigger bass and mid response than say, maple/alder or maple/basswood, but not drastically. The tonepros is cool, balanced, doesnt change the game - I was just making sure you didnt have a double locking, which would be a different story, as it would make the guitar considerably brighter. (Maple neck + double locking trem and I'd have changed to holy diver)
Add to that the scale, which will (or generally would, all things being equal) lead to more high frequency harmonics propogating on the string and a thinner string again leading to more mids and highs in the sound and I would certainly warn you off the cold sweat if you dont want it to 'scream'. (it would satisfy your bass requirements, however).
The nailbomb is a fair bit less hot than a blackout. I recently had a set of blackouts in a guitar that I currently have a C-Bomb in. They arent universes apart, but the c-bomb is definitely conisderably less hot, so the A-bomb will be 'cooler' still. I'd guess, subjectively, 30% less 'hotness'/'output'
