Hell yeah! I am loving this. I've already got the cd pre-ordered so this is a nice little preview.

Alter Bridge are one of my three favourite bands (along with Deftones and Tool). It's nice Mark Tremonti has somewhere to show off its talents properly.

Never actually bought any alter bridge stuff, but I like what I've heard, on scuzz and kerrang and the like. Myles is a great singer, no doubt.

Anyway, yes, my CD will be ordered shortly. It will sit in one of my CD racks, next to the other two alter bridge CDs.

I listened to about half of it last night.  Their stuff always takes a few listens to grow on me, but it sounded.... promising.

I can see how it would be a grower, but I liked it pretty much immediately. Right from the atmoshperic intro to the first song.

It doesnt seem to have the emotional rawness of some of their other tracks off previous albums, but its high quality music.

i was only joking, I agree with you :lol: I don't like stuff as heavy as some of you guys like, but compared to mainstream people, I'm probably considered a metalhead. :lol: It always annoys me when people think I'm a philistine because I "don't have a wide taste in music", when these supposed music doyens only listen to pop, while I listen to classical, jazz, blues, rock, metal, etc. etc.

i was only joking, I agree with you :lol: I don't like stuff as heavy as some of you guys like, but compared to mainstream people, I'm probably considered a metalhead. :lol: It always annoys me when people think I'm a philistine because I "don't have a wide taste in music", when these supposed music doyens only listen to pop, while I listen to classical, jazz, blues, rock, metal, etc. etc.

Yeah, I know youre all just pulling my leg, but still, as a general thing it irks me.

Especially when its from people that only listen to a narrow range, as you say. I know that most people here dont fall into that, but as a general observation of the casual listening people I meet, people that are into metal are more likely to enjoy a wide range of music than people that are into blues, rock, country, jazz or whatevers in the charts passing as archetypal pop these days. Theres a good chance someone that likes extreme metal likes all those too, but no one thats into any of them think that :lol:

If theres one thing that 'metalheads' do hate, its half arsed pseudo-metal! :lol:

Don't like the long buildup of the first song but when it gets into it, it's pretty good. I never really liked Alter Bridge the first time round, might give em another listen. Isolation is a belter of a riff as well :D

yeah, i'm not much a fan of stereotypes. Especially ones which are flat-out wrong. :lol:

what also makes me laugh is when people, for example, say they're into jazz and then list, say, duffy, as someone they like. I mean, ok, it's better than the vengaboys or something like that, but I mean it's hardly jazz either.

Yeah, it was just a bit of gentle limb-pulling. 

But for me personally, I was genuinely a bit surprised because you usually seem to comment mostly on (what I think of as) Extreme Metal.  I didn't for a moment think that's all you listen to, but I didn't know what else you do like.  :)
