I am pleased that all has turned out ok but was slightly concerned about your choosing to send the Laney back as I have one. But then I saw that you quite liked the cleans and I only have mine on clean or just breaking up settings so all truly is well in the world.

Yeah I'm very happy about that. The Laney's cleans were cool but when using the gain past 5 it gets very very thin and fuzzy. Probably poor quality valves but I can't be bothered to change them.

The Jet City is awesome though.

yeah those jet cities are meant to be great for the money, but I haven't been able to try them yet :(

The Laney needs to be cranked, they have basic master volumes that only really benefit at stage volumes.
Then they sound great.

Did you try them both cranked?

I would guess the Jet City has a lot more going on in the preamp to get better sounds at lower volumes.

The 2x12 VC30's are loud and definitely gigging amps.....

I've had Laneys before so I know how to get them to work at their peak. But the VC30 just isn't for me.

I had a rehearsal last night and the Jet City was amazing. It's definitely loud enough to compete with my drummer who's very loud. Super impressed.

Except one of the valves has died, which pissed me off but I suppose it's to be expected with cheapy china valves. So I'm going to get a replacement later.

tell guitarguitar about the valve. I had a microphonic valve in the Uberschall they sent me and they sent me a free valve to replace it. a groove tube 12AX7. but If you have a preference then best get your own.

The JCA20 is the Soldano Atomic 16 preamp with a bigger power amp. so im told.
