I believe it's real as Mrs Stevens does seem to have a love for Hello Kitty
In fact she and Steve maybe enjoy a lot of Japanese "pop - culture" from the pics that they have on Facebook

Whether it had a BKP I dont know...........maybe Tim or Steve himself could tell us!
