Good 4 inch/10 cm speaker for guitar?
« on: October 29, 2010, 07:00:24 PM »
I have a new Pignose guitar, with the built-in amp and speaker.

I'm looking to upgrade it, with not just a better pickup, but a more efficient, louder speaker.

Even a mod to the amp perhaps.  As you'll know there's limited room inside the small body of this thing.

The speaker is 10 cm (or 4 inches) diameter.  Anyone know of where I can get an upgrade/replacement?

I've long lost contact with the people I used to know that built small amps etc.

I've got it playing great and getting good tones but I need more volume.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd get a 1x12 cab and run the amp into that, job done.

Nah, the point I wanted the guitar was to be mobile yet play electric, at parties and at home.

Got several other amps guitars and cabs, but  I got this to be mobile and practise at a moment's notice without messing with leads. Terribly pushed for time currently and often have to grab a few minutes without even time to set up amps and pedals etc. Can't leave them set up either.

Also wanted it  to soup it up as a project, too.

Thanks for the mention Focal, I've emailed them, we'll see if they can help or not.
