New track using Amplitube 3
« on: October 30, 2010, 06:28:35 PM »
Think my inspiration seems to be coming back now its getting more wintery, I've written 3 things in the past week :)

Amplitube 3 is pretty good when you tweak it a load. Way better than no.2 and this patch sounds quite similar to my Laney. I really can't tell if the mix is any good as it sounds fine on my Grados yet a bit bassy on my speakers, but then the room seems to be a bit bassier than my old room so I can't tell!

You certainly can get a much better sound from Amplitube (and GuitarRig etc) than I can  :(.

Very good - reminds me a little of My Sharona (The Knack)  :)

Love it! Yep the Tom-meister is back :D

I almost started singing along to it, but then remembered I've promised the missus quality film and jigsaw time this afternoon (after I'd moaned that we don't seem to be spending enough time together!)so I've only got an hour or so to play with my strats before I put away my toys

This is really good stuff - mix sounds fine in my "mixing" headphones (Sennhieser something or other), which is what I use to listen to most stuff online now.

I can't recall - have you got yourself a bass yet? Either way, stunning bass-line: it's either a fantastic bass performance on an effected-guitar, or flippin' heck you've taken to bass fast!!!

Lovely, and next time you're going through the doldrums, remember this particular "post-doldrums" period. I find it really helps when you start feeling uptight about not creating anything decent for a while. If you can remind yourself that you've done it before and came out fighting, then it really takes the pressure off when everything you do sounds like cr@p and you end up not wanting to play at all!

Thanks for the comments :) I think my hobbies are very seasonal - in the summer I go off guitar as it's all about the mountain biking, but now its getting colder and wetter I'm focussing more on writing music again. I think the cr@p weather is good inspiration for moody music as well

Andy, you could try singing over it if you like, I don't have a singing voice or a knack for writing words so all my stuff is written for vocals, but with no way of getting them on there  I don't have a bass yet as the Vintage P is sold out everywhere and nobody has it back in yet. So for the bass I just used the middle position on my SG into an amplitube bass model with the octave pedal in front. Somebody on another forum is selling their Deluxe MIA (I think) J-Bass in a lovely vintage white which I'm very tempted to spend the extra bit of money (around $500 with shipping from America). It's active though, I don't really know the difference but I'm not sure if I can be bothered with any battery faff.

Tellboy if you have amplitube 3 and would like the patch I'm sure I can find some way of sending it. It's basically just a standard JCM800 patch tweaked so it doesn't sound so cr@p - why are all the standard ones so terrible?!
