Pantera
« on: November 02, 2010, 10:13:18 AM »
so,
yesterday while me and the missus was doing the big shop, we bumped into Vinnie Paul of Pantera fame in Shepherds Bush Morrisons.
I said hello, shook his hand. He's doing ok. I left him to do his bits.

haha. after I had a little chat I thought of so many things to say! haha. most of them stupid. but he seemed like all he wanted to do was get some shopping done, and like he was tired. so I felt kind of odd. It's weird, I see a lot of celebs in work, and I never approach them, but I guess I don't really care about them. I also didn't want to be "that guy" hassling him for time... you know? I wish I could drum like him

Ahh sweet, Vinnie was IMHO the true hero behind Pantera. Obviously everyone talks about Dime - well he inspired a multitude of guitarists and boy could he play (even if most people don't like his tone!), and the walking attitude (but again, what a voice!). I'm always pleasantly surprised when I hear Rex's bass popping through the mix - he wasn't bad either, but Vinnie's drumming still gets me moist. I guess I like him cos not only is he good, he hits them hard!
