opinions on 8-string bridge humbucker needed.
« on: November 09, 2010, 01:33:02 AM »
hey guys,

will be building a 27" 8-string guitar with a swamp ash body, bolt-on maple neck and maple fingerboard.

i am looking for a bridge humbucker that will give me the fastest tracking (tight) on the lows, low mid girth without a high mid spike and smooth round highs.

i narrowed them down to an aftermath or miracle man but would like to hear your opinions on them or any other better options.

regarding body wood do you suggest mahogany/maple or swamp ash to match with the above pickups to achieve what i need?

thanks,
dani

I vote Aftermath. The consensus around here is that it's THE fastest tracking BKP. It doesn't have a high mid spike, though it does have strong mids all around.
