First Act guitars?
« on: November 09, 2010, 09:03:54 PM »
Does anyone know anything about these? We played a gig with a band called The Defiled and the lead singer had a white one of these which had a firebird style body-looked cool as.

I've had a look on the internet and can find a bit of info, but only cheapo low quality ones for sale. Im guessing the one he was playing wasn't a cheap one!

Here it is;

Cool innit?

I vaguely remember these being reviewed in Guitarist a few years back. They got some pretty good write ups but were pricey. I'm pretty sure one of the was called 'Lola' or something like that.
I think I hate being indecisive.

had a quick peek at the website at the weekend and saw some nice guitars, but all I've managed to find for sale here are the cheap ones. I guess they haven't got a lot of distribution over here.

For ages Reverb were selling the First Act Sheena guitars for £39 quid. They were mince but at forty bucks, you couldn't complain for a guitar to give to your pal for a daft christmas present!

Their standard line starts at $999 and goes up to $1799. I imagine the customs are a fair bit more.

Ironically, i have a Custom First act USA guitar loaded With Bare Knuckle Rebel Yells.

Its an alder body that slightly mimics a telecaster with a binding on the body and neck.
Flamed maple neck with ebony core and a birds-eye maple fretboard.

Gotoh 510 tuners and a string through tail piece

Sorry for the bad exposure.

I got it used for $800. In my opinion, a steal. The original owner paid $2100 for it. Personally, i dont feel that that steep of a price tag is worth the guitar. But the custom 1 off artist pricing is super reasonable. Quoted ~$1500

The resale for these is horrid because noone knows anything about them and the people that do have them are usually touring artists that snagged them cheap or free. They sell one offs all the time on their facebook.

That one is going for $1500 or best.

When they did commercials with Slash and Volkswagen it has a virtual builder on the website that was very cool... not sure why they took it off ¬¬
