Fuzz Fail
« on: November 13, 2010, 10:08:13 PM »
Buoyed up by talk of build-your-own effects pedals, putting aside all my historical failures in this area, and spurred on by links on this damn form to musikding.de, this morning I had a crack at the Sliicone Fuzz Face.

Why do I do it to myself?

Hours of my life wasted, precious time that I'll never get back and can scarce afford to lose given that I'm pushing the big 40.

Why do I continue to delude myself that I'm technically capable of building these things???  All the evidence suggests I'm shitee at it, my spare room is littered with the half assembled corpses of BYOC or other such nightmares.

And people on this forum actually claim that they LIKE building pedals!!!  Liars or masochists, every last man-Jack of them.

I'm never, NEVER going to buy another pedal kit as long as I live.

Ever.

Mark.

Yeah - get some pics up. I've always been 50/50 on a BOYC or similar kit.

If you've so much stuff that you won't get round to finishing you should whack it up on seconds out. I'm sure a few would be interested.
I think I hate being indecisive.

its just a Fender Champ circuit, very early one when they used a pentode preamp valve (6SJ7) rather than a dual-triode (12AX7).

you could always just buy a fuzz factory and save yourself the trouble!

oh and on a minor note fuzz sucks through my new grado 325i's, I tink i'll have to be returning them :(
