When BKP says IT's, then follow the advice. I just hesitated bec some players stated the IT's are more suitable for a rosewood fretboard. Although my strat is quite percussive (swampash/ebony is quite punchy), I never feel the IT's are too bright. They are clear, a BKP-trademark. The IT's can do a lot of tones, from Hendrix, Chili Peppers to funk etc. They handle gain very well. I play with the vol.knob on the guitar to get different tones. IT's are quite dynamic.
They pair nice with the Crawler. Splitted you will get a balanced Fender-quack. I think Crawler in an alder body works very well. Mind you, the Crawler has reasonable output, but with the vintagehot-vibe you're after. Cleans up very good too, I use the Crawler often for clean/semi-clean tones. Very versatile pickup. By the way, I play an Orange Rockerverb 50 head (4x6v6) into a 2x12 cab and a Hughes & Kettner Statesman 4xEL84.
You can order every set at BKP, even with special wishes. Just mail the BKP-team.
