Pickups for Death metal Flying V
« on: November 18, 2010, 11:10:58 PM »
Hey guys :D Thanks for last time. My jack(sionz) fusion pro ended up with a Bill Lawrence L500, a perfect floyd adjustment & a sand papered neck for free. So im more than happy with it now.

Well now im getting myself my dream guitar; a Gibson flying V.

First of all this guitar is the epitome of swedish death metal :D and i want that sound to the extreme(i got both pedals btw ;) )

I want this guitar to Cut through like a razorblade through a factory made of shite & butter. An almost Emg like compression, just without the clinical touch and boring low end.
I was thinking to get another miracle man. But this pickup dosent do it fully for me anyway.

Great in the grand scheme of things, but its very uncompressed for a high gain pickup. Nowhere near EMG compression.

Really though, if you want to sound like Gothenburg in 1990 (which I presume you o since you're talking about "both pedals") just pull any pick up from any guitar you can find in a skip and make sure your amp is a bit broken.

I love hellish sounding Swedish death metal nonsense. Carnage and Nihilist etc. Great.

Buy two old Boss HM-2 pedals, an Industrial-grade blender and two pickup covers and some starch.

I guess you see where i'm going with this  :D

Anyways, regardless what the outcome will be here, I can guess pretty easily who gets put to work putting the new pickups in
