Microphonic problem...

Feedback as well as over the top resonance/ringing in all my guitars. I'll record a clip tomorrow. I was doing some palm-muted stuff to showcase the tightness of the aftermath, and in between notes there's a dissonant ringing.

Is there any way that the OP can actually record the noise?

If we could hear it we would have a higher chance of helping you to pinpoint what it is

To me this sounds either like a microphonic preamp tube or like trem springs swinging in the back of the guitar. I wouldn't call this "feedback", this is "ringing noise".

If it's a trem guitar, try padding the springs in the back. Also tap with a pencil one by one against the tubes while no guitar is plugged in the amp and the volume is up. You will hear it ring when you find the bad one. It needs to be replaced.

Like I said before, the feedback and the ringing are two completely different things. I'm pretty sure I've worked out the feedback issue with a gate. With the ringing you can hear in the recording, both guitars are Tune-o-matic stringthru. The pickups are mounted pretty tight in the 7.

the ringing will most likely be a microphonic tube then and this could also cause the feedback
