I really rate the BYOC ping-pong delay (can also be used as a regular delay). I have that runnning 18v in the loop on the amp. I also have a G-Sharp in there with it that I suspect is along the lines of the Nova system stuff and is really very nice (especially at the £20 or so it cost me :) ).

I had a nova delay, it was very nice.. did everything i wanted of it.. but its expensive and did too much really.. so i sold it and now have a byoc delay.. bare bones straight to the point delay

the one I've got now the EHX memory toy is a good simple one but that's exactly why I don't like it, I like the TC for the reasons why u don't like it, I'm sure your byoc is better tho, the quality of the EHX memory toy repeats is really really bad, it sucks! literally sounds like it's slightly bitcrushed

problem with byoc is the temtation to get ridiculously expensive parts for example jensen transformers even though you aren't supposed to, how was building it? does it use a seperate 18v powersupply?

It's just a regular stomp. You just omit and bridge one resistor to run it at 18v. All the parts that come with it are fine.

I spotted the El Capistan a couple of weeks ago. It's very impressive but I'm not trading in my Boss RE-20 just yet.

Another great echo/delay is the BBE Two Timer. You can set two delay times and switch between them, for the rest it's a dead on copy of the old DM-2.

have just been listening to the Brigadier and it's really growing on me, I read the manual and it can do everything I want and isn't too complicated, it just very well might be the one. I'm not sure about the el capistan, the main reason being that I'm not sure I want too much character in the delays, for some music it'd be perfect, wheras the brigadier would be good for a lot of different styles, it can do up to 5 seconds! it sounds similar to the dm-2 which i really like

I think the Brigadier is very fine tool. Would love that one in my setup, but first have to sell some pedals....

I did it! excitement is an understatement, it's arriving tomorrow! I'll be posting clips on here and can't wait to show the thing off, check out the players page over the next few days...

Clips would be nice. There are great democlips on the Strymon-webpage. I also am impressed by the reverbpedal. The harmonics on the long settings are amazing.

tc nova, best bang for your buck. about 7 delays in 1 because of the presets, tap tempo, stereo outs for the studio or stereo amp setup.
c-bomb bridge, cs neck, HD set, MM set, PK set, Alnico BH set

yes very happy indeed, the quality is superfluous, it was worth every penny, it does everything I need it to do no more no less, it helps me want to play instead of messing about with presets etc, it's better than real analog, the attention to detail is something else though, they really have thought it through, I have literally tried hard to get a bad sound out of it and it's not possible! I was trying it through a dirty amp today and it still cuts through, and it never ever sounds harsh, even when pushed hard....

the quality of modulation is really nice as well, I was using it as a chorus pedal and it sounds better than 95% of chorus pedals, same with vibrato, it's warm and analog but without the noise, very lush and analog, you'd swear that it's not digital

thanks very much for the recommendation, you were spot on hunter!
