Thanks guys, I am really digging these pickups!

My only criticism is a mechanical one.  The ring mount tabs on the pickups are a little longer than standard as compared to Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, and EMG.  They are a good 3/16" or so longer.  I had to route out the neck pickup hole so that the tabs (and the whole pickup) could sit in lower.  I hadn't noticed it until I was about to put the strings back on when I saw the neck pickup in profile in relation to the neck, the strings would be sitting on the pickup itself!  So I gingerly routed out extra space in my beloved V with a Dremel rotary tool to make the pickup fit correctly.  Not a big deal for myself, but someone without as much experience, or the right tools, could become extremely frustrated and can either wreck their guitar or leave it to the fate of some guitar shop hack.

Anyway, thank you all for the great comments!  I will be purchasing another set for yet another Dean V soon after the Holidays.

Thanks again Tim!  :D

The Legs on ours are the same as the origional gibson PAF, we do also make all of our pickups with short legs, but most guitars fit long legs.

I have never had a Gibson (well I did have an Epiphone at one point in time) or have seen their PAF pickups.  I didn't mean it as a slam, by no means, just an observation. So when I order the next set does this mean that I can get them with shorter legs?

@indysmith: You can probably get Engl amps a whole lot cheaper than I can!  And as far as you know, yes that is my real name.  :P

I didn't take it as a slam, dont worry. Short legs wont be a problem.

Awesome clip, very tight playing and brilliant tone. Keep 'em comming!

Excellent clip Thor. Great playing and sound.

But isn't it illegal for a prog-rock song to be in 4/4?

Thank guys.

@Keano: The selection of cabinet speaker was solely based on the location of the mic stand and how it was already set up.

I recorded two separate guitar tracks in mono and panned them a little left and right of center in the stereo spectrum.

DUDE! that was sick!
that tone is the best i heard yet for  a MM clip!
your clip should be the one that showcases the tone of the MM pup
when someone asks "what does this MM sound like?"

got any lead stuff clips?
I can only imagine how great the lead will sound with that tone!

I had the same problem with my cold sweat neck pickup it had long feet and i had to route the guitar out, which for me wasnt a problem.. but could be for other people, although all the previous pickups i'd orderd had been short feet.

I'll just remember next time to specify short feet, if i ever need new pickups lol.

I've got an ENGL Screamer 50 here and I must say the Vintage 30 speakers just dont do it for me with the engl the 75watt celestions in marshall cabs are far better.. my mate thom also agrees and he owns a powerball.
