Lamb of God - 11th Hour : Nailbomb
« on: December 23, 2005, 01:23:10 AM »
Its quite sad when you realise the only free time you have is while your ill. This has been my situation for sometime and only now that i am ill do i have a chance to sit down a record. Obviously not the greatest time to record, but beggars cant be choosers.

I threw this togther quickly just to give another heavy clip of the nailbombs in action. The mix is all over the place ( flu, ears being very cr@p ).

I will remix and put it on later (dont know when....sorrrrry).

Enjoy.

Setup: Mbox, Pro Tools 6.7, Pod Xt Pro, Ibanez RGT2020 w/nailbombs both postions.

No eq or effects on guitars.

Good one! I never knew Nailbombs could go that extreme. Real Sepultura vibe going on there. Great playing.

That's pretty tight! I wouldn't say it's all over the place at all. Sounds good too. Awesome sounding pickups.

sounds pretty fecking fantasic those nailbombs!, im soooo sickend i've been wasting my money on DiMarzio's all these years, 7 years i've been using dimarzio exclusively!

I've got a pair of Miracle Man's in my ESP and VHII's on the way for my Strat.. think the Nailbombs will be next for my Les Paul Studio.. and what guitar do i need to buy to put the warpigs into? thats the real question!

cant get over these pickups..

Wow - that was ace!!! Really tight clip.
Where did you get your drums samples from? Where they standard with your sequencer or did you buy them separately?

Cheers for the comments.

I got the drum samples from Drum Kit from Hell 2. It cost about £60. These drums arent the most natural you can get them to sound. So i just wrote out the drums and they trigger the real samples.

Nice job mate! As a LoG fan myself I think you pretty much did the song justice there.

One question, I notice you use the Line 6 POD XT Pro? That's the rackmount box right? You think there are any advantages of that over the normal POD XT (red bubble thingy)?

I only ask because I'd like to get one for my home recording and I hear that they are basically exactly the same, just one can be rack-mounted and the other looks like a novelty lunchbox.

Cheers!

Hey cheers for comments, much appreciated.

As with the bean vs. the rackmount, i would go with the rackmount if you have the option. It has more uses ( more ins and outs, if you ever want to use it live or in conjuction with poweramps etc ). The sound is at a higher bit rate ( sounds more realistic, etc ). If you havent got the cash spare, then the bean will be fine, i have heard some very good recordings done with it.

Wicked mate! Thanks for the help, I'll aim for the rackie!

By the way, I heard a lot of clips for the Nailbombs here, but yours were the ones that clinched it for me. You got an amazing sound out of them mate, and did the LoG songs justice.

Cheers bro!   \m/  \m/
