Ok I'm uploading a short clip of this recording I was talking about. I cut it on my phone using ringdroid so not sure if the qualitywas deceased. And paste note it was recording with a $20 sm57 clone, so its a bit muddy.

lets see If this works... :P

EDIT: Ok sweet it worked!  To the OP, both amps will do Bronx (fckyeaa!) but only the Thunderverb will get you entombed (Wolverine Blues or GTFO  ). That's why I got it!

And just cos you mentioned Entombed, have you listened to Black Breath's new album Heavy Breathing? Listen to the guitar tone on that album...

Hah!  Yeah, OK - I get that.

;)

I've got an old 4xEL34 amp - roughly 120 watts.  I can't be anywhere near it much above 9 o'clock.  And (not wanting to get into a "my dad's bigger than your dad argument"), I've played with some pretty loud drummers.

Does anyone really need that volume on stage?  Even Richie, playing stadiums, surely wouldn't be maxing out a 200 watt amp on stage...

speaking of black breath... I saw them the other week.
i watched the opening 1/3rd and the later 1/3rd of their set in Hasselt.
I think i've met one of their guitarists before when On was on tour.

they were using JCM800's and I'm not sure what for bass. hire gear.

My friends playing after them use a thunderverb for bass, and for a guitar a A/B/Y splitter into a jcm800 and an Ampeg V4. the Ampeg sounded awesome. the Thunderverb sounded awesome.

doubt you can go wrong with the thunder 50.

200Watts is about as useful as an 8x12" cab. Those never caught on either.
That aside the Thunderverbs are good amps, but if you want something with a huge power rating (for excessive downtuning) I'd rather look at the Mesa Rectifier with 150Watts. The new version can be dialed down to 50 or 100 Watts.

Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

surely 200watts is to 100watts as to what 100watts is to 50watts?
I mean, 100 and 50 aren't too different. 10watts is half as loud as 100watts.
so 200 and 100 can't be THAT different?

I agree you don't NEED 200watts, but after hearing a couple of people using thunderverbs plus 8x10's for bass last week, I'd say its definitely a cool amp.
