I've just signed up to 100meg broadband!

Virgin are upping the speed to 100meg on the 7th. I'm getting it on the 17th with HD Tv with the recorder box ect.

I was on Bt for 4 years but I have had no broadband for a month and they can't work out what's wrong with it, so I f*cked them off.

100 meg blimey, just think of the things you could do with that once everyone catches up with it. Online TV channels, Films at a click ect

I have just short of 20mb now and the internet cant really keep up with it as a majority.

There are a few sites that really take advantage of higher speeds and its great for hosting online gaming.

The best thing i have found is using it with newsgroups.

2.6mbs download speed its pretty awesome.

I envy you as i'm no longer in a cabled area (well my street is but my block of flats isn't due to the landlord being an ass) so i just have BT but im one of the lucky ones thats about 15ft from the exchange.

I'm paying for 8mb and getting roughly 19mb.

At my old house which was half an hour down the road i was lucky if i could get 1.5mb

I know how you feel on that from my last property.

Virgin are bad for it too though

they actually cut your speed by 50% exactly between 5-10pm on weekdays

however if you just had the 20mb one that 10mb is still nearly twice as fast as most people get on BT

The retention adviser lied to me about the broadband width saying it wasn't possible to get over 1mb download with my line. This was despite getting 4mb the year before. So I went to 02 and now have my old speed back at a much cheaper price. I'll never go back.
I'd love 100mb though. Not sure what I'd use it for

I can't stand BT. We're paying for 20meg broadband and we're not even getting 1meg. They lied to us so now I'm trying to switch to Virgin. Which is a bit more expensive but at least you'll get what you pay for  :x

You have to use stuff like usenext.

That is the only way you will notice the differences you can get about 700mb in 6 minutes

They didn't technically Lie as all there stuff says up to* but i agree it is very sneaky also the fact that they dont let you downgrade to a package closer to what you get for 6 months is really shitety of them

When i was with virgin i didn't quite get 20mb it was very close though at about 19.4mb
