He's selling off about 150 items, although I heard it was in New York not London

He did something very similar in 2004 at Christie's - some of his own guitars, plus a few donated by other guitarists.

I didn't go, but I did buy the catalogue - lovely pictures!  There are some surprising things you wouldn't expect EC to own, like a Terry C McInturff guitar, a Gibson ES-336, an aluminium-bodied Strat and a Tele with a neck humbucker.  All gifts to him, of course.

Maby he'll flog that godawful gold leaf one?
*vomits a little*

That was sold in '04 (unless no-one wanted it!)
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

so i tried to go down there this lunch time. turns out its not at the New Bond Street address like on the Guardian article, but its at the Knightsbridge branch - on the corner of Cheval Place and Montpelier Street.

You can go and view until the 27th, but not sure I can be motivated to now ;)

That rig, the stripped Marshall head and the Diaz nodded fender jumped out at me. He must have a big $%&#ing warehouse is all I can say.

Yeah, didn't he actually bid on (and win back) the guitar that he wrote Layla with? What a dude!   :D

That's a bargain. Two new SLO's would be about £6K alone. just for the heads.
