Depends soooooo much...

Just come out of a massive Mules phase, and am back with my BG Flat 50's.  As long as you understand your amp and setup, you really CAN make them sound like anything...

Agree with that. Lots of BKP's sound awesome, just in the right guitar for the right music.

Miracle Man Bridge - Strat alder maple/maple.

I've had the CS, NB, BD in her, but the MM rides the lightning and has great chordal structure too.  What I haven't had yet is the HD, which may be quite the contender from what I've read on the forum.

As far as complete self indulgence - the full Apache set is the most beautiful pickups I've ever heard in the entire world, nothing or no one can match the heaven of Tim's Apache IMHO.

In the real world of making money and having a worthy stage show in a flashy rock band, if I could only have one pickup it would be the MM.  In my dream world I could melt into a set of Apache' and do rock blues until kingdom come, but I need the flash and cash for now.  :)

Thanks Andy and Gordi.

The '777' refers to the serial number. The natural relicing has started though. It's an older picture. By now it has a paint chip on the upper bout and couple of dents on the body. Nothing on purpose, just natural relicing that comes from playing and gigging the thing.

Manhattan  ( see Avatar Pic  ).  :)

One day , I would love to try B.K.Ps new Soapbar version of the same ( the 'Half Note' ) in a neck pickup only guitar.  After hearing the official 'Half Note' soundclips it would be fun to have a solidbody guitar fitted with one B.K.P.

In an ideal world, a WezV or Feline Guitars version of the single pickup Eastman 'El-Rey' ( ER1 ) that Choucas has .  8)

Warpig set (ceramic bridge) , Althought there the only B.K.P. pickups I've used, they sound far better than any Duncan or Dimarzio I've used. There in a USA Jackson Soloist alder body maple neck through. Guitar SCREAMS.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and found some very interesting reading so far. Some pickups are clearly standout successes such as Mules, Apaches, Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Warpig and Holy Diver. It would be interesting to learn more about exactly why it is that these are your favourites. I've tried a few of the Bare Knuckle range before but not too many. I tried Mules in a Les Paul and absolutely loved them, to the extent that I'd love to buy some sort of mahogany guitar just to put a set of Mules in  :D. I also tried a set of Cold Sweats in a Les Paul style guitar and was also impressed with them. Overall I'd say I preferred the Mules as the tone seemed so much sweeter and smooth as well as being a bit more versatile. They were great for Blues and I found them surprisingly good at Rock and even Metal as well. The Cold Sweats just didn't have quite the same mojo, though the neck version was very good. Unfortunately I don't have a mahogany guitar at the moment so I'll need to look at something else but not sure what yet as I still have a lot to read.
BKP owned:

Bridge - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; A-Bomb; Holydiver; Miracle Man; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

Neck - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; Holydiver; Sinner; Trilogy Suite
