i also found this on EMGtv... Kirk Hammett admits at the end that EMGs make all guitars sound the same:

v.good albeit a little too much on the ears. stanley jordan the black new york jazzer pioneered this style of playing
in the 70's, most have never heard of him, probably because again it's a bit indulgent and as much a demonstration of talent at the event horizon of playing over song based music spiced with a few solos.

Wow ... simply just wow.
I now watched this over 5 times and am still not overly saturated by it  :)
The only thing that really puzzles me (more than the awesome demonstration of skill) is the angle at which his thumb bends!!

Impressive playing.

Don't really like it as music, but can definitely appreciate the playing as a guitar player.  Always good to hear new players though!
