That's the one Phil. I'm now in 2 minds. Go for the Starla or have put together a Strat from Warmoth parts (trans flame red, ebony fretboard, 1 humbucker and 1 SC).

I just don't know

Two very different guitars, Steve!

The Starla's going to work out cheaper, I'm sure.

I know I'm very indecisive

This will probably be the last guitar I buy for a very long time so what ever I get has to be something special, so I'm looking into everything

PRS Starla
Warmoth of something sort
Charvel Socal Pro Mod
Fender Classic Player 60's Strat
PRS SE single cut/tremonti and buy a nice set of pickups
A nice 7 string guitar.

I just don't know. My absolute limit is £600.

Charvel Socal Pro Mod

(if you don't like it after a couple of years I'll buy it off you  :D)

You'll have trouble building a Warmoth for under £600 (if you're buying all new parts).

The Classic Player Strats are good value, but I really didn't like the '50s one I had.  I sent it straight back.

There you go, we're narrowing it down for you.  :D

Well I went out to Coda Music today and tried out a bunch of guitars.

PRS Torero
Ibanez S770
Fender Classic Player 60's Strat
Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded

The Strat I wasn't impressed with. Didn't sound too great and played quite 'roughly'.

Torero was ok, wasn't too keen on the fretwork, not bad but could of been better. Trem arm kept coming loose. Sounded pretty cool.

Les Paul was cool but felt a bit cheap. Not worth the £600+

Ibanez S770 was actually really really nice. Very comfortable, sounded great and played very smoothly. The ZR trem was cool but I think it needed a decent set up as it went out of tune a bit.

So far that's narrowed things down, I might try and get to Guitar Village in Farnham after christmas and have a look at the Charvel Pro Mod.

Four totally different guitars. If you're not specifically after single coils en wanna spend around 500, maybe take a look at the new Fender Blacktops. The Telecaster looks way cool and there also a Jazzmaster with a P90 in the neck. Later you can always swap them for BKP's.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
