Hi I have found this amp very nice, but has not too much gain expecially with low output Pick ups, anyway
it has that kind of Soldano Gain, if you hit the strings very hard you compensate the lack of gain!

I think the jet city has very good clean if you roll off the volume, maybe becouse of the El84 in the power section. I like a lot this single channel amp, it can't do for sure (at list without a pedal) the agressive metal thing.
Anyway it is more like the crunch channel of the soldano but with some EL84 color in the power section.

Now I'm looking to record my leads with this amp and my Plexi in a stereo configuration.
I think the Plexi has the thump factor and the liquid sustain, while the Soldano has more growl and it is more excited as a tone.
I need a new mic pre and an amp switcher!

Ah I was forgettin to say that the amp needs to be played loud to sound great, you have to add that speaker gain that sounds like bell sustain, it makes the tone more excting.
in the clip the volume was about 1 o clock, so quite loud!
