Help choosing P90s

Hi, I'm thinking about dropping a couple of bareknucle P90s on my lovely Jetking 30. I play lots of prog/post rock/metal
(Mars volta, Oceansize, Gojira, Mew, Tool, Katatonia, Anathema, Sikth, As Cities Burn, Benea reach, Circa Survive, Cynic, Cult of luna, ISIS, Opeth... )
. I like my tone to be gnarly but well defined, with a "djenty" gain sound and a tele/strat like cleans (think mew/ oceansize).
So I was thinking about getting a 'Pig 90 for the bridge, and a Nantucket 90 for the neck.
What do you think?

I would actually recommend the Supermassives for what you've described. I think the Pig '90 is going to be a bit too hot and loose for some of the more refined sounds you've mentioned. The Supermassives will give you plenty of aggression for the heavy stuff with a tighter and more defined sound than the Pig, but will also be more open and clear.
The Nantucket would certainly work in the neck when paired with the Supermassive bridge, but I would see no issue using the Supermassive neck for the tones you've mentioned either.
Hope that helps!

yeah, the supermassives sounded pretty cool, but the notch in the bass + flat high/mids concerns me a little. I wish I could hear some more demos.
Im going for the nantucket in the neck because I don't play that many leads and I like to have a rhythm PU that sounds like a gnarly tele.

haha, yeah. I'll look more into the supermassives, now I'm thinking about getting that one for the bridge since you said they are tighter and more defined, Thanks for the help Nolly =).
oh, also, should I go for the RWRP on the neck?

As a thought, you could ask Tim to make a 'Pig 90 with a ceramic mag for a tighter sound.
RWRP.. Is that something you've done before and liked the sound of?

nope, never done that before, but I heard is to keep the hum down on middle positions. does it impairs the sound?

I haven't got experience of doing it with P90s, but making the middle coil on a strat RWRP chops off a bit of top and bottom end extension, while hollowing the mids out slightly for a smoother, "cluckier" sound. Bear in mind that the more mismatched the two pickups' outputs are, the less pronounced the hum-cancelling effect will be.

hmmm, I guess I wont be going for RWRP.
i think I'll go with the supermassive, I've been a/b'ing them with the pig, and I think they're the best choice for this guitar, since I'll be using my 7string blackjack for the heavy stuff.
thanks a lot for all the help Nolly =)

No worries dude! Before making the purchase it'd be worth running past the BKP lads themselves just to be sure.
