Any of you guys using these yet? The clips sound amazing. Me thinks they would be jaw droppingly good in a Les Paul 8)

No experience, but the clips sound indeed amazingly good and I love p90's in a Les Paul. Love this raw, thick tone with an edge.

Yep, I really loved the Stockholms when I recorded the clips! Is there something specific you would like to know about them?

The stockholm sounds AMAZING!. I can imagine it has an yngwie'esque vibe in the neck. Im seriously considering to buy two neck models for my guitars

Do you clean up great, how much P90 is in the voicing or is it closer to a HB, for what kind of music you recommend the Stockholms?

Yes, they definitely have that distinct P90 character with a high resonant peak and an almost "quacky" midrange response. They do clean up very well, though they are noticeably more modern in voicing than the Mississippi Queens. I'd say they are perfect for alternative rock and can certainly handle metal though don't expect them to sound like a humbucker. You could also use them for bluesy rock if you want a rich and fat P90 sound.
I haven't confirmed this with Tim, but in theory the Stockholm could also be made in regular P90 size, and the Supermassive could be made in the humbucker-sized housing... Another thing to bear in mind for anyone interested I suppose!

Hi everybody, I'm interested in the Stockholm pickup. I'm searching a fat (loud low frequencies) and punchy P90' tone. With a high a output. Does it answer to my expectations?  I'm afraid of it could be too much mordern, sharp. Is it "just" a boosted P90 or it's quite different from a common P90 ?

Thanks Nolly. You're a great help on the forum. So the Stockholms are great for heavy rock, even metal, but relatively modern voiced.

Telerocker, thanks! Thinking about it they'd be great for stoner-y material too.

Erratom, it's a Saturday night so I have been out and away from the computer for an evening ;)
It's difficult to give you the answers you're after without some more info about your guitar and rig. However, I would definitely not describe them as sharp - as the tone charts and audio clips on the site aim to show, they are fatter and darker than the more traditional Mississippi Queens for example.
The sound is undoubtedly P90-ish in character, but the hotter wind lowers the pickup's resonant peak when compared with a lighter-wound pickup. I think the clean clip demonstrates this fairly well when compared with the MQ, Nantucket and Blue Note 90s.
Perhaps if you want to keep the sound a bit closer to a classic P90 tone but want some extra girth and power it's worth asking the BKP team to make you a humbucker-sized Supermassive. Have a good session of comparing the clips to see what you think of that idea.

thanks a lot Nolly for your advice.
I play on a  Engl Savage 60 amp with Schecter & Washburn guitars (LP style). I  really like  how P90's behave with this amp : punchy, clear, and also destructive. Not sharp and metal-ly like most humbuckers, even though I play metal and loud rock (stoner)!
I just want a big big P90 on bridge position fo heavy tones, but not too much mordern, my amp already is.

So, clips are great and Stockholm seems a good choice. what are the guitars and amplifiers used for making these clips?

Sorry for my poor english, I'm french!

The Stockholm clip was done with an SG through my Axe-FX running the Diezel VH4 model (with a fuzz pedal added for the trem-picked lead).

The Stockholms indeed sounds awesome.

Another question for you, Nolly. How do you think the Stockholm neck would get along with a A Nailbomb bridge? Seems to me they might suit each other well.

Thanks for the reply Nolly  8)

What guitar did you have the Stockholms in?

I was actully on the website checking out a Mississippi Queen. Was considering trying one in the neck of my Tele. Clicked out the Stockholms and just thought damn these would rock in in a Lester.

I've got a Laney GH50L and a Laney Lionheart. I would think the Stockholms would sound great with either amp. Mind you a Nailbomb in the bridge as you said would be a smoking combo too.
