Pole Piece Adjustment
« on: January 16, 2011, 01:40:39 AM »
Would anyone have any suggestions on how to adjust the pole pieces on my humbuckers?

Depends what you're trying to do:

Balance volume across strings?
Make the pickup sound more open/clearer?
Or more compressed/fatter?

Use your ears! :) There's so much variation to be had by changing the polepiece height, especially for chords, it can really help balance out or accentuate features (ie, drop the g string down a little to help it sit in a chord if it's always a little sharp, drop the e down a bit to make a power chord have a little more mid range grind)
