How do you like that fret press as opposed to hammering them in?

I found the epi video quite uplifting actually. There's something so depressing about a broken seemingly-beyond-repair guitar that it's really nice to see it brought back to life like that.

They don't spring back up with a fret press and there's no give in stainless steel frets, so you really need to use one lol :)

Wow, great work!  Those scarf joint (is that the right terminology?) headstock repairs are so neat.

It's quite cheering to see guitars rescued from the scr@pheap like that.

I was very impressed with the headstock repair video too

Looking at this new one, since they are all the same style headstock, are these breaks a weakness in the design?

Necks have always seemed to be the weak point on some Gibsons (at body/joint end as well as headstock). Gibson have tried tweaking necks by adding volutes and altering joints but the thin angled headstock will always be a potential weak point.

Funny that was the only bit of my old 1963 SG that didn't get broken.  :?

That's just a few of the guitars I have done, I've lost count of all the broken head repairs lol  :o

It's something of a shame that the one sane change in the Norlin/Gibson days viz. the volute was abandoned, Chucking the baby out with the bathwater, a bit.
