The house is burning - which one do you grab?
« on: February 24, 2011, 08:44:36 AM »
It's been a while since we did one of these, plus we have a lot of new members, so let's see where we're all at with our #1 guitars  :)

The house is burning, you have one hand free and you can only grab one guitar to save.  No ifs, no buts, no maybes.  One only.

Which do you grab?

For me, it has to be the one I play the most at home.  The one I lusted after for 6 months before selling my Ducati and buying it.  It's the one in my avatar, my Gibson Billy Gibbons "Pearly Gates" Signature '59 Reissue Les Paul #240 - "Francine".  What's yours?

If I only had one hand free I would have to finish and clean up first... then decide.

Interesting way of putting out a fire Dave!

Only have one guitar (for now), so i'd save my RG7321
Formerly "ManOnTheEdge"

Using a Nailbomb 7 Set in Ibanez RG7321

Probably still my Epiphone LP Custom. Although I never play it much any more it's still the guitar I feel most attached to.

One of these two, whichever was nearest at the time.

We stay in Lester territory for mine Dave. It's not my No.1 player, but it is my No.1 'owner' .

A humble 1997 Les Paul Standard in ( I believe ) Honey / Desert burst . Pickups are B.K.P Mules.

A Les Paul for me too. I'd leave a 57 RI Custom to burn and grab my routed 71 GT. Save a Norlin and burn a CS RI, am I mad ?

I'd burn to death. :)

I think I'd probably grab my Ibanez RG670DX for two reasons; firstly, it was a birthday present from my ex-wife and still holds some sentimental value as well as being an excellent guitar, and secondly it's currently living in its case within easy reach on my way to the door, whereas for my other guitars I'd have to scrabble around in the cupboard, increasing my risk of burning to death. :)

I only have two guitars now: an Ibanez Gio and a Parker Fly. It's not really a hard choice
BKPs (soon): CS, TS.
Ex-BKPs: Abrax, NB, SM, PK, Mule, WP.

It will probably be whatever is closest out of these three:

Although since they are normally in the rack with straps on I would stick two around my neck and grab the other one   :D
PRS Tremonti - PRS Silverburst 594 - Ibanez RG550EX, RG570 & RG721FM - LTD SC 500 -  Schecter 006’s - EVH 5150III 50w into custom Zilla Vert 2x12
Previously owned: WP, A & C-Bomb bridge, HD, CS set,

my 1984 Flying V:

Its had a few mods recently:

Neck pickup wired in parallel (by me)
Fret dress, tone pro's bridge, tone pro's tune-a-matic (all by Feline, great work!!)

I haven't changed my mind since the last thread but I'll take the opportunity to post this again.

Well I don't count my stage backup ibanez as being a guitar really, it's just a backup, so it'd be my one and only: Vociferator!
