BK Brown Sugar's
« on: February 26, 2011, 01:04:26 AM »
Just installed my first pair of BK pickups today (brown sugar's) - and to be honest i'm absolutely blown away by how good they are - they have turned my MIM Tele into a guitar the equal of both my american made strat and les paul.  In fact, its got me looking at replacement pickups for both those other guitars.

I appreciate this isn't the most debate inspiring post in history - but i like to give credit where its due

Welcome here! Glad you like those Brown Sugars. BKP's make a guitar just better, more alive, bec of the dynamics and excellent stringseparation.

That is good to hear. I also have a MIM Tele though mine has a set of Country Boys. These were installed many years ago and transformed the guitar from one that I liked to one that I loved.

Well after getting the Brown Sugars, i've now moved from thinking about replacing the pickups in my USA strat to actually doing it - after some helpful advice from Tim (a reply on a sunday night within 2 hours no less) i ordered and i've now installed a set of Slow Hands (with the zinc base plate on the bridge).

Again - i'm absolutely delighted to the difference they've made to the guitar's sound - each position is clear and interesting and responds to different types of pick attack - and the bridge pickup really works well with both my amps OD channel and my OD pedal to give a big full sound.

I now can't wait to put these to work in my bands next gig in a couple of weeks time.

Again - not exactly the most interesting new post - but i'm just so happy with what both sets of BKP's have added to my guitars sound.

Slowhands are great and you'll notice the in between sounds are particularly good. The neck pickup is, in my view, one of the finest there is.
